What else to know ...

Not surprisingly, hosting an event of this magnitude comes at a price (from food and alcohol to sporting equipment to park registration and reservation fees). We've decided that a registration fee of $15 per person will cover enough of the costs to leave us with more reasonable out of pocket expenses (which will still be considerable). In the event that our cost estimations prove too liberal, any excess funds collected will be returned to you in the form of better food, alcohol, and recreation. We hope that you feel that this is reasonable.

Due to the complicated nature of planning such an event with a structured tournament bracket and a full day's worth of food and drink, we unfortunately cannot offer open registration. Therefore, we have compiled a list of regulations that must be stated and that we hope will be respected in order to guarantee a smooth registration and planning process and a quality event:

  • Each mailed invite will grant the invitee one additional (optional) invite for a partner/teammate. You may also partner with another invitee, or register solo.
  • Solo registrants will be paired by the Society with other solos into standard two-person teams.
  • If you have come across this site independently, please contact us before registering to introduce yourself and inquire about openings in the tournament. Registrations from strangers who haven't contacted us will not be honored, and your registration fee will not be refunded.
  • Because of legal considerations involving our event permit and field space, we regret that registration will be restricted to those of 21 years of age or greater. Younger registrants unfortunately will be turned away, and registration fees cannot be refunded.
  • To prevent non-registered persons from attending, the exact time, date, and location of the event will not be on the site. If you need details, please consult your invite, the person who invited you, or us.
  • Registration is not complete until the registration form is completed and payment is conferred.
  • The registration fee, once submitted, is non-refundable, unless the event is cancelled.
  • Registration will close on September 1st to allow the final stages of planning to be completed.
  • To provide the best possible experience for those in attendance, we will be capping registrations. We believe that we have sent out an appropriate number of invites for this cap; however, we must reserve the right to close registration.
  • We will attempt to give forewarning to invitees via e-mail if registration spots are disappearing as the event nears, but we urge people to register as soon as possible and to register both teammates at the same time.
  • If you have supplies (e.g. badminton nets, racquets, and/or shuttlecocks) and can provide them to the Society prior to the event, please let us know on the registration form or by contacting us.

We are using PayPal as the preferred method of payment for the event. If you are unfamiliar with PayPal or are wary of online financial transactions, know that PayPal is arguably the most popular and reliable payment website on the Internet. With over 4 billion transactions processed in 2005, simple and fast payments, and the ability to submit payment from a credit card or bank account, we believe that it is the best method for payment. If PayPal is not an option for you, please tell us. We will be in touch to work out options for you to submit payment and guarantee your registration. Otherwise, click the button below to begin the registration process. Once your payment is processed, be sure to click "return to merchant" to be automatically returned to this site to complete your registration.

The paypal link, and the registration involved therein, has been removed now that the registration deadline has passed. See you at the event!
